Boynton Beach, FL – The Palm Beach County Library System is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Canyon Branch Library. The community is invited to take part in the celebration happening on Jan 11, 2025.
This project is many years in the making, with the official planning for the new library branch started in 2019. Thanks to the support from the Board of County Commissioners, County Administration, the Library Advisory Board, the Friends of the Palm Beach County Library System, the outstanding Library staff and supporters in the community, the Canyon Branch is completed and ready to serve Palm Beach County.
In celebration of this momentous occasion, there will be an official opening ceremony held at 10:00 am on Sat, Jan 11, 2025.
Festivities will include:
- Speeches and a Ribbon Cutting
- An artist talk with Brad Goldberg, designer of the “Opening Minds” public art integrated onto the columns that grace the building’s entrance.
- Music and refreshments.
- Live demos of the CreationStation and MakerSpace.
- A children’s show with performer Suzy Hammer.
This branch serves the Palm Beach County residents in the community encompassing the unincorporated area west of Boynton Beach surrounding the Canyon Town Center, which includes the region west of Jog Road, south of Hypoluxo Road, east of State Road 7 and north of Valencia Bay.
The new building is spacious, airy and has flexible spaces that encourage collaboration and inspiration. Two unique features of this branch are the large, dividable meeting room and collaborative space. With this kind of flexibility, the branch can accommodate multiple groups of users both large and small. The Canyon Branch also features a convenient drive-up service window for hold pick-up and a separate item drop for quick returns.

This new location embodies our commitment to providing accessible, innovative and engaging spaces for all.
