Our Mission

Established in 1969, the Palm Beach County Library System has served the community for the past 54 years expanding into 17 different locations. With a vision to open minds to the world of unlimited possibilities, the System provides services and activities for all ages such as literacy tutoring, computer training, internet access, job seeker and small business resources, government and genealogy research, children and teen activities, consumer health information and other means of community support and enrichment.

The Library continues to explore new ways to serve the residents of Palm Beach County as our population grows and technology changes, while still retaining a personal connection to our residents when they walk through the Library doors. Currently, we house 1,400,000 items in our collection, all offered in various, accessible formats.

Additionally, our professional research staff can help you find the information you need for your research paper, business venture, family history and medical condition. If you can’t make it to one of our locations, check out our online resources and outreach services. We have e-books, magazines, newspapers and research sources on our website. Our Bookmobile travels to all corners of the County on a two-week rotating basis and we offer outreach services to those who are visually or physically unable to visit a Library location.
