About the Clarence E. Anthony Branch

Bookmobile service has been provided by the Palm Beach County Library System in South Bay since 1971. In the 1980s, South Bay Mayor Clarence E. Anthony successfully lobbied the County for the construction of a permanent library facility on land the city deeded to the County in its municipal complex. The branch opened in May 1992 and was named for Mayor Anthony who is the youngest person for whom a county building has been named for. The branch offers popular book discussions and craft activities for adults in addition to popular storytimes and crafts in a welcoming children's area.
