This free service provides Library materials (books, DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs) to Palm Beach County residents who are temporarily or permanently homebound and/or cannot visit their library because of a physical disability, long-term illness or lack of transportation. Materials can be requested by mail, telephone or electronically. Readers may request reader's advisory assistance from Books-By-Mail staff and titles from any source.
Books-By-Mail is more than just books, audiobooks and DVDs. Books-By-Mail members can also take advantage of monthly activities designed specifically for homebound individuals. Books-By-Mail is a free service that provides any item in the Palm Beach County Library System catalog to eligible Library cardholders who are unable to visit a physical branch location because of a physical disability, long-term illness or lack of transportation.

Any item in the Palm Beach County Library System collection can be requested using postcards provided by the service, by calling Books-By-Mail staff at 561-649-5482, or by placing a hold on the Library's website. No. Books-By-Mail service as well as the mailing of materials is free to all qualifying applicants.

Every Books-By–Mail member is given a 28-day loan period from checkout, including time spent in the mail.
