Dewey the Owl here!
I recently took a tour of the Palm Beach County Library System's Main Library and found so much cool stuff to do and explore. This library branch was opened in 1972, and in owl years, that's a really long time! The entrance to the branch is decorated with really nice plants, and there's even a cool mosaic on the lobby floor. As I turned to head towards Member Services, I saw something shiny that caught my eye – a time capsule set to be opened in 2059. I wonder what’s inside … maybe candy or toys from the past! I then strolled down the Graphic novel aisles. There were so many to choose from! I also saw that I could register for a passport. I’ve always wanted one just in case I ever want to travel the world someday. It’s nice to know that I can get a passport right from the comfort of the Main Library…
From there, I remembered I was late for my appointment at the CreationStation! With the great lighting and podcasting gear they had available in the CreationStation, I was able to film my Taylor Swift video podcast with ease. I was tuckered out at this point and found a quiet place to sit and read my favorite publication, the Palm Beach County Library System’s Happenings magazine. From there, it was time to go to the Children’s area and get ready to listen to storytime. I just love listening to stories!! My last stop on this whirlwind trip through the Main Library was the Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County, located downstairs. I didn’t even know that this place existed until today. I can’t believe how much history is down here … I can’t wait to come back to research my family tree!
Until next time, it’s Dewey signing off. Have a great Dew-cember!
