Palm Beach County Library System’s Wellington Branch to Close for Renovations

The Wellington Branch will close at 5:00 pm on Dec 31, 2020 for renovations and chiller replacement. The $4.2 million project includes new lighting, fixtures and flooring; painting, and construction of new interior spaces, design services, and select new furniture items. The branch will reopen in late 2021.

The building was renovated and expanded in 2007 and it was the first project completed as part of the 2002 bond referendum. “Due to its heavy use over the past 13 years, the building was in need of renovations.” said Library Director Doug Crane. Funding for this project comes from the Library Taxing District. “We believe the residents of Wellington will appreciate the upgrades and refurbishments as the library continues its mission to connect communities, inspire thought and enrich lives,” said Crane.

  • The Bookmobile will visit the Wellington Amphitheater – Community Center Complex at 12100 Forest Hill Boulevard on Thursdays from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm while the branch is closed.
