Palm Beach County Library System Hosts Conversation with Expert to Talk Dr. Seuss, Racism, and Children’s LiteratureEvent Will Take Place amid Rising Anti-Asian Bigotry and Violence Nationwide
The Palm Beach County Library System is hosting a conversation with Dr. Philip Nel, University Distinguished Professor of English at Kansas State University and noted Dr. Seuss scholar, to discuss Dr. Seuss and racism in children’s literature, especially in the context of rising anti-Asian hate nationwide. “The Dr. Seuss Controversy: Racism and Children’s Literature” will take place on Wednesday, April 7 at 6:30 PM eastern time via Zoom.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Palm Beach County Library Updates
The Palm Beach County Library System is partnering with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to offer assistance with SNAP benefits. Benefits specialists from the PBC Food Bank will assist with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application process and conduct the food stamp interview. Specialists can also help with other benefits applications available through the ACCESS Florida system including Medicaid and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
PBCLS Celebrates Black History Month
Palm Beach County Library System Celebrates Black History Month
We will be offering events that honor the heritage, contributions and achievements of the African American community. This national celebration initiated by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, also known as the father of Black History, has its roots in a weeklong observation in 1926. Although we are not able to offer the events in person this year, we invite you to enjoy a wide variety of events accessible online via Zoom. New Passport Services Available at the Palm Beach County Library System
The Palm Beach County Library System is now an official Passport Acceptance Facility for the U.S. Department of State. The service is by appointment only. Appointments will begin Tue, Feb 02.
