Palm Beach County Library System’s Talking Books Wins Award from Library of Congress
On June 05, 2014, the Palm Beach County Library System’s Talking Books (PBCLSTB), received the Network Subregional Library of the Year Award. The award was presented at the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. by the National Library Service for the Blind and Handicapped (NLS).
Join the Summer Reading Program – "Fizz, Boom, Read!"
Patrons of all ages are invited to join our "Fizz, Boom, Read!" Summer Reading Program, which runs from Jun 09 to Aug 01 at all Palm Beach County Library System locations, including the Bookmobile.
Read Down Your Fines with "Dewey Bucks"
Starting in June, the Palm Beach County Library System (PBCLS) is implementing a new way for children to pay overdue fines on their library cards. Children and teens up to age 17 can participate in this program by signing up with a Youth Service staff member at their local library. For every 15 minutes spent reading they will receive a "Dewey Buck" which can be spent at the Library’s circulation desk to remove overdue fines, purchase a replacement card, or buy a book bag.
Palm Beach County Library System Named 2014 Florida Library of the Year and Best Florida Public Library Website
At its annual convention in May, the Florida Library Association (FLA) named Palm Beach County Library System (PBCLS) the Florida Library of the Year. PBCLS was recognized for the wide array of programs and classes offered at its 17 locations.
February Is Black History Month!
