    DESCRIPTION: Assists professional reference staff with adult programming duties, presenting hands-on computer/electronic device classes to the public, with the retrieval and checking in of periodicals/serials for patrons, following up on claims, processing reference books and shelving materials. Assists patrons with locating reference materials and accessing electronic reference products by the use of the internet; uses word processing computers, online public access catalog, network printers and copy machines. Provides readers' advisory services; troubleshoots computer problems.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level course work (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours) OR one (1) year of college-level course work (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library.

    OTHER: Ability to lift 50 pounds preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

    PREFERENCE OF EXPERIENCE: Working in a library reference section; training personnel and public speaking; using MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/ Internet; providing customer service; planning adult programs for the public.
