Palm Beach County Library System is seeking friendly, customer-oriented staff. We are a busy, fully automated, southeastern Florida library system serving a population of 865,541 with a Main Library, 16 branches, and Outreach Services with 450 employees. To apply for open positions, you may:

    DESCRIPTION: Charges and discharges materials to the public in a western Palm Beach County area service branch. Registers borrowers; retrieves library and overdue materials; uses computers for bibliographic searching; resolves inquiries concerning the circulation of materials; advises public of materials to meet reading needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level course work (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours) OR one (1) year of college-level course work (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library.

    OTHER: Ability to lift 50 pounds preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

    PREFERENCE OF EXPERIENCE: Working in a library circulation department/book store; resolving circulation-related inquiries; providing library self-service technology training; handling cash; using an automated circulation system (must specify on application).
