Find the Help You Need

The Palm Beach County Library System has many resources available to help individuals and businesses affected by COVID-19. Ask-A-Librarian staff are available by phone, email and chat to help members who have questions or need assistance filling out unemployment/reemployment forms.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity website at floridajobsresources.com provides access to unemployment and reemployment assistance, job listings, small business loans, and other compensation programs provided by state and federal government.

Paper unemployment applications in English, Spanish and Creole are available to pick up at FedEx Office Centers and outside of the main entrance of the following Library locations:

Please do not return completed paper applications to library locations. They can be dropped off FedEx Office Centers in Palm Beach County. FedEx will send applications to Tallahassee at no charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Department of Economic Opportunity helpline number is 800-204-2418. For assistance in Spanish, Creole and other languages, call 800-681-8102. Phone lines have been busy. The department recommends calling as early as possible and checking their website at covid19.floridajobs.org for more information. CareerSource Palm Beach County offices are closed but the staff is available to help online, by email and by phone. Visit www.careersourcepbc.com/contact-us or call 561-340-1600 (central Palm Beach County), 561-829-2040 (Glades area), or 561-727-3399 (Delray Beach).
You will be required to provide the following information, so have it handy when you begin your application:
  • Social Security Number
  • State driver’s license or ID
  • Last 18 months’ employment information
    • Employer’s name, address, telephone number
    • Employment start date and end date
    • Gross earnings
    • Reason for separation
  • Work Authorization (if not U.S. Citizen)
  • DD-24 for Military
  • SF8 or SF50 for Federal Employees
