Families Reading Together
Teen Photography Show
and
Reception at Pine Jog |
In a new initiative for this year’s Families Reading Together campaign, high school photography students were invited to submit photos capturing the natural beauty of Palm Beach County. Thirty-four captivating photographs were received for display. These photographs will remain on display through November at the Pine Jog Environmental Education Center’s Gallery. The evening of November 6th, a reception was held for these talented teens and their families at the Pine Jog Gallery where Assistant School Superintendent Connie Tuman-Rugg and Palm Beach County Library Director Mr. John J. Callahan III spoke to the young people about the correlation of visual arts to the written word in literacy. Award-winning photojournalist Mr. John Lopinot, retired Deputy Director of Photography at The Palm Beach Post, spoke to the students about selecting photography as a career. |
