The Library Adventure Museum Pass Program (known as the LAMP) is a partnership between the County Library System and 11 local museums for children in Palm Beach County.
This program connects literacy at the library with the visual arts at our local museums.
It is a summer activity for Palm Beach County children. Research indicates student participation in learning opportunities (such as the LAMP program) during the summer, when school is not in session, helps children maintain their educational levels.
Very simply this is how LAMP works:
-
A child visits the library
-
Picks a participating museum
-
Shows a Child’s library card to Youth Service staff
-
Gets a Library Adventure Museum Pass
Each LAMP is color-coded to indicate the month it can be used. In addition, each pass will also have a survey for the parent and child to complete after visiting the selected museum. The surveys will be collected and entered into a monthly drawing. The winners will receive a library tote bag with a book and several other gift items.
Admissions for each museum vary (but there must always be one child under the age of 16 in the group) and quantities are also limited for each museum.
