Sensory Friendly Browsing Hour

The Palm Beach County Library System invites individuals of all ages and abilities to our Sensory Friendly Browsing Hour! The library is designating this hour on Saturdays from 10:00-11:00 am at locations throughout the county to provide an opportunity for special needs families to browse the library in a calm, judgement-free environment. Opportunities include using the computer, getting a library card, and assistance from staff to find exactly what you're looking for!

Virtual Sensory Story Time

People of all abilities are encouraged to participate in this inclusive story time experience through stories, songs and sensory-focused activities. Once registered, Virtual Sensory Story Time Kits can be picked up at each of our branches starting Mon, Apr 26th. Call the branch's children's department for kit availability. While supplies last. Florida Atlantic University CARD Provides expert consulting, training and support, at no charge, for people with autism and related disabilities, their families, employers, the professionals and community and governmental agencies serving them. The Florida School for the Deaf & the Blind - Parent Infant Program Offers statewide early intervention, family-centered opportunities free of charge for children ages 0-5 who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired. 211 Special Needs Helpline Information, assessment and referral to community services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Coalition for Independent Living Promotes, supports and educates people with disabilities for independent living. The School District of Palm Beach County- Exceptional Student Education a resource designed to provide an open line of communication for parents, employees and community members in order to improve the education of all PBC students. Els for Autism A world-class facility hosting leading-edge Programs and Services that are accessible to families and caregivers around the world. Vocational Rehab Florida (Palm Beach County) A federal-state program that helps people who have physical or mental disabilities get or keep a job. Seagull Services Provides advocacy and services for teens and adults with disabilities and their families, providing work force development and employment services as well as transportation and education. National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped Provides advocacy and services for teens and adults with disabilities and their families, providing work force development and employment services as well as transportation and education. 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Free, confidential, comprehensive help-line available 24/7 for local social services information in the U.S. and most of Canada. Arc of Palm Beach County Provides quality services, education and advocacy for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disorders) Provides quality services, education and advocacy for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. The Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County Makes available services to providers to enhance staff’s knowledge and competence in serving children with disabilities or behavioral challenges. Agency for Person with Disabilities - State of Florida Working in partnership with local communities and providers to ensure the safety and well-being the people we serve.
