In order to ensure a congenial and safe environment for its patrons, which is conducive to reading and study, the Palm Beach County Library System prohibits the following:

Fighting or loud, abusive, or threatening language

Firearms, alcohol, or illicit substances

Leaving young children unattended

Loitering, sleeping, or bathing

Abuse or vandalism of library materials, equipment, or property

Selling or soliciting
-
Harassing of others or creating any disturbance that interferes with the normal operation of the Library

Smoking in library facilities
-
Food and beverages in non-designated areas, except for water in covered containers, and covered beverages and dry food consumed by very young children

Bodily hygiene that is so offensive that it interferes with another person’s use of the Library
-
Inappropriate use of library computers, such as damaging or altering or tampering with equipment or software, downloading or installing any program on a hard drive, disrupting or interfering with other computers or network users, services, or equipment

Illegal activity of any sort
