IRS extends Tax Day for individuals to May 17
The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service extended the federal income tax filing due date for individuals from April 15 to May 17. Individual taxpayers also can postpone federal income tax payments for the 2020 tax year to May 17 without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed.
