Director John J. Callahan IIIWhatever your age or interests, there's something for you at the Palm Beach County Library System. Our collection contains over 1,400,000 items and you'll find books (print, recorded and downloadable), magazines, newspapers, DVDs, music CDs and information experts.

In Fiscal Year 2007 (October 1, 2006 - September 30, 2007), the Palm Beach County Library System:

  • Circulated over 6.5 million items to almost half a million cardholders,

  • Answered 1.7 million questions,

  • Welcomed over 184,000 children to 6,726 special programs,

  • Trained over 8,000 people how to use computers and the Internet,

  • And tallied over 4.5 million hits on our web site.

The Palm Beach County Library System was established in 1967. Today, the County Library System serves Palm Beach County through the Main Library, 2 Regional Libraries, 11 Branch Libraries, a Bookmobile and a Library Annex.  The Palm Beach County Library System continues to expand through our involvement with library networks, the Internet, and the World Wide Web.

  • Promoting community enrichment, economic vitality, and individual achievement through reading and life-long learning.
